Celebrating The 4th At Global Resources!

Happy Birthday, America!  We anticipated our holiday weekend with an awesome 4th of July potluck lunch.  The festivities started early with Deb’s firecracker cupcakes.  These cleverly themed treats were filled with Pop Rocks candy (the fuses were black licorice ropes) and they had to be consumed, immediately, if we wanted to experience the cakes exploding like firecrackers in our mouth!

Snap, crackle, pop—Happy 4th of July!
Only a couple cupcakes remained by the start of lunch!

We kidded Joe that he had prepared ‘Magic Mike Baked Beans.’

Our appetites were merely whetted as we went on to enjoy hot …

Global Resources Celebrates Memorial Day With A Picnic!

The recruiting department at Global Resources organized an office ‘picnic’ before leaving to enjoy the 3-day weekend.  In honor of Memorial Day, it was an all American picnic, serving grilled brats and hotdogs (kept warm using a couple crockpots) with all the traditional sides and toppings.  There were baked beans, potato salad, Joe’s amazing pasta salad (see the recipe on our Facebook page) and an array of tempting desserts!

Shout out to Kerri and Deb for organizing this event!

A couple ‘before’ shots…

Before, everything was totally devoured!

Global Resources – Splish, Splash, We Had A Blast!

A Baby Shower requires favors!  Kerri poses with the favors that she created
for our event (she used Avery 5160 address labels and Hershey’s Nuggets).  Yum!

Global Resources held a ‘Baby Shower Drive’ collecting boxes of donations to benefit the Teen Parent Connection, an organization that empowers young families (providing support, education, and resources that will prevent child abuse and neglect among this at-risk population) while working at preventing teen pregnancy (parents who have successfully completed the program go on to speak at area schools and community events, educating teenagers about the harsh realities of being a teen parent).…

Hippity, Hoppity, Happy Easter From Global Resources!

The Global Resources’ office was made more cheery with seasonal decorations as we celebrated spring and Easter!   Pastel fans in solids, stripes, and jelly bean patterns were strung from our ceiling.  Bunnies, baskets, and fresh flowers have brightened our desks along with holiday candy!

We All Celebrated On Kimmie’s Birthday!

Working at Global Resources LLC

Kimmie’s desk was decorated with Mary Jane candies
(her favorite—they taste like peanut butter)!

Birthdays are always a fun occasion at Global Resources, as we like to surprise the birthday person with a decorated workspace; but Kimmie’s birthday was even more joyous, because she brought in her world famous Taco Dip!  This festive spread is not only tasty, but healthy, with plenty of fresh chopped veggies.  Check out those vine-ripened tomatoes!

Delicioso!

Thanks, Kimmie, for making this the happiest birthday at GR!…

Enjoying The First Signs Of Green!

It’s been a long winter in the Midwest and here at Global Resources, we eagerly awaited the first signs of green…

Depictions of Shamrocks, buckle adorned top hats and dancing leprechauns are now appearing throughout the office along with a multitude of green shades worn by our coworkers.  Kelly green, forest green, mint green, even neon green items of attire have cheered the sight of those long accustomed to the overcast grey of snow, sheet and slush.

Forget ‘spring ahead,’ the true harbinger of Spring is not the time change, but the celebration of St. Pat’s!

Our volunteers assembled the …

Birthdays Are A Blast At Global Resources!

Turning a year older is actually a lot of fun at Global Resources!  Our corporate culture embraces having the work space decorated to celebrate your special day (although, if you’d rather not be featured in such festivities, your wishes are quietly respected).

Coworkers are continually flexing their creativity to come up with unique decorating themes that are personal and meaningful to the recipients.  Favorite colors, fashion (a fondness for zebra print, for example) or pets may be featured.  Desks, doors, and hallways are often festooned with streamers, banners and balloons; so that anyone walking by knows that it’s your day …

Sweet Home Chicago!

President Dave Danzig warmly greeted employees as they arrived.

The Global Resources Annual Meeting started Friday evening with a welcome reception.  The main purpose was to provide food and refreshment to all our analysts and consultants who had arrived via various flights from all over the country (because no one really enjoys what is served on airplanes).

Shout out to Tonia (above, center) who organized an impressive menu of Chicago classic cuisine to greet our guests.

We enjoyed Chicago-style pan pizza (with the tomato sauce on top of the cheese layer), hot dogs with a selection of toppings (neon green …

Prepping For Our Annual Meeting At Global Resources

Once again, it’s time for our Annual Meeting, when all of the Global Resources’ analysts, consultants and management gather to share best practices tested in the field, review all the recent regulatory and tax changes that affect GR clients, and enjoy networking time among colleagues.

Behind the Scenes at Global Resources…

Temporary work tables were set up.  Kimmie (above) and Sarah, then worked on assembling the endless stacks of handouts, worksheets, CD/DVDs, etc. to be distributed to the attendees (literally, boxes and boxes of materials).  Additionally, Sophie printed, stuffed, and arranged in alphabetical order the hundreds of nametags.

Our Food Drive Was A Success!

Food Drive Donations at Global Resources, LLC.

Kim inspects the donations.

Kim was happy to report that we amassed seven full bins of food and two bins of paper goods/bags for the Libertyville Food Pantry, our best Food Drive ever!  Kim rounded up volunteers to pack the food for delivery; thanks to Peter and Tom for stepping forward to do the heavy lifting.  Thanks also to all our coworkers at Global Resources for bringing in their donations to help prevent hunger in our community.  As Kim likes to say, “Every can helps!”
