Launching Our Annual Food Drive

Kim checks out the almost full (with four weeks still until Xmas!) Food Drive bins;
the generosity of her coworkers continues to astound her.

We celebrate the holiday season at Global Resources not just with decorations, cards and gifts, but by reaching out to those less fortunate through our Food Drive.  Once again, Kim has organized the launch of this annual event, obtaining donation bins, creating flyers and sending out email blasts.  It is a personal crusade for Kim to help prevent hunger in our community.

Bags, bags, bags!

This year, working with the Libertyville Food Pantry, she has …

Walk In Our Shoes!

Can you connect the face with the shoes?

With winter finally behind us, everyone at Global Resources is able to take their summer shoes out of storage and show off some dazzling footwear.

“The perfect summer accessory is a pedicure,” declared Donna (10.).

A broad array of shoe styles is on display in the office, from quietly conservative to boldly glamorous and everything in between.   Some pairs were only worn for the photo shoot.  Magna (5.) shared that she really couldn’t walk in hers, while other shoes, meant for comfort (F.), show up every day at the workplace (in a …

Expanding Our Healthy Vending Choices

We were delighted to have Nicole from Mastercraft Coffee & Vending take over our conference room to share a selection of healthy vending machine choices.

There was a broad array of beverages, entrees and snacks presented during our lunch hour.  Employees had the opportunity to taste items as well as evaluate their nutrition and pricing.  As the Mastercraft website points out, “people must first like the taste of a healthy item, or they will not purchase that selection.”

Taste-testing, it’s hard work, but someone has to do it!

We’re in complete agreement.  It’s …

The Greenest Office

Here at Global Resources, we’re well aware that interior plants may improve concentration as well as increase productivity and reduce stress according to research.  This is why we employ a plant service to take care of select ‘rent-to-kill’ plants that are placed throughout our building.  There is one office, however, which boasts much more than the usual amount of greenery.

Plants also aid in hiding from pesky photographers!

One might even say that it suggests a greenhouse with lush plants trailing off desks and file cabinets.  The office belongs to Randi and Theresa, who also run our travel department …

Surpassing The Fundraising Goal For ALS!

Global Resources employee Scott shared that his team at the ALS Walk4Life event, held Sunday, September 22nd, surpassed their $8,000.00 goal this year, raising a grand total of $9,964.00.  Scott thanked the generosity of his coworkers for contributing $670.00 as team sponsors.

The Walk benefited the Les Turner ALS Foundation, “a leader in research, patient care, and education about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, and other motor neuron diseases (MND). The Foundation serves more than 90% of the ALS population in the Chicago area.” The cause is very close to Scott’s heart, since his …

Setting High Expectations At Global Resources’ 2013 Annual Meeting

With the Presidential election over and rising consumer confidence seen in retail, housing, and automotive sales, the stage was set for Global Resources’ 2013 Annual Meeting.

After a breakfast buffet, Global Resources President David Danzig welcomed everyone gathered in the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center and Hotel ballroom with a ‘state of the industry’ address.

Meant to prepare our employees to address the challenges (in the form of the newest Federal regulations, tax and health care requirements) and the growth opportunities for our business clients, the Annual Meeting was an event filled with presentations, hand-outs, and intense break-out sessions.

Here’s a …
